Food - Pieces of Ate III
Every now and then we like to feature our favorite "pieces" from local restaurants, the things we go back for again and again.

We could eat these gloriously flavorful vegetable samosas, um, forever! Stuffed with potatoes, peas, raisins and rich Indian-inspired seasonings, they're then fried to a crispy gorgeousness, and served with a cilantro, mint and garlic dipping sauce. Sublime! $12 for a pair of them at Sweet Plantains on Fridays and Saturdays (their Indo-Caribbean nights) |

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, we bring you the Candela, a very very minty concoction. Looks scary, tastes delicious! If you don't like really sweet cocktails, try this. It's tart, sweet-ish, and earthy at the same time (better tried than described) and tastes something like a frozen mint margarita (but with Grey Goose). Passion fruit juice is the secret ingredient! $12 at Morgan's Mango, open 7 days a week. |

Oh, how comforting is a bowl of new England clam chowder? The Lime Inn's version is our favorite; it's thick with tons of clams, chunks of potato, a little bit of bacon, and oyster crackers to toss on top. If you're ever having a tough day, sit on the shady deck, grab a carafe of swamp water and unwind. That's what we do. $6 for a bowl, $5 for a cup at The Lime Inn, for lunch Monday-Friday and dinner Monday-Saturday. |
