THE FERRY SCHEDULES to St. Thomas aren't really that confusing and they are for the most part very reliable-boats to Red Hook, St. Thomas leave the Cruz Bay, St. John ferry dock every hour on the hour from 6am to 11pm. The car barges leave from Enighed Pond approximately every 1⁄2 hour from 6am until 7pm-just re¬member to get there at least 15 minutes early. Full schedules are below.

From Cruz Bay to Red Hook

Route is about 20 minutes dock-to-dock,
and 20-40 minutes via taxi to the airport.

Departs Cruz Bay: 6am-11pm
Departs Red Hook: 6am-12am

From Cruz Bay to Charlotte Amalie

Route is about 45 minutes, and 1 mile to the airport.

Departs Cruz Bay: 7:15am, 9:15am, 11:15am, 1:15pm, 2:15pm, 3:45pm.
Departs Charlotte Amalie: 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5:30pm.

CAR BARGE

The car barges only go to Red Hook (note: you have to back your own car onto the barge). There are several barges; we like the Roanoke because it has onboard palm trees for shade and a concession stand. A few tips: St. John rental cars are not allowed on the barges to St. Thomas,
and vice-versa; Monday-Friday "Mister B" is more expensive that the other boats; buying a round-trip ticket may be less expensive but for your return trip you
are then (sometimes) tied to waiting for the originating boat to arrive.
Boats leave approximately every half hour.
